In a Place

By Tina Joshua

In a room with the person I trust the most,

I sit in the chair with a look of confusion.

I only know a few of the words,

They are coming at me so fast,

They suffocate me by the second.

I know my family will protect me,

Yet I want to know the answers.

What did the doctor say,

Please someone tell me.

Will this thing kill me,

Will I ever get better,

I sit in silence,

In a place with this disease.
